Idea Inspiring: Cheerleader Eater

This will be the first of a new series called Idea Inspiring. I will post a random picture or gif or meme and you have to use it to create a list of ten ideas. You can use the technique from Real to Fictional of changing the who, what, when, where, why, and how or if you don't know those, come up with them. Here is an example from the above gif: Who-a monster eating a good (or bad, side, or background) character Where-at a football field What-monster broke free from somewhere  and is rampaging and eating students When-the night of the big football game Why-because it is starving How-leaning down and eating them Good luck to all of you! Peep Killer

You all know of those cute little easter treats called peeps, the ones that are basically just molded marshmallows shaped like little chicks and covered in some sort of sprinkles.   Well, apparently some people like to kill these peeps, I have seen the deaths of many peeps throughout my life but nothing so terrible as what I am about to tell you. Most people prefer to kill the peeps by eating them, whether in one bite or bit by bit. This is all nothing compared to how my father killed the peeps. He didn't even eat them at all. He hung them, mostly by their tails. And I am pretty positive, he does not plan to put these peeps out of their misery by eating them. These poor peeps. That's it for now, have a British day -Kac

Red Hot Nickel Ball-Meeting Ice

Let this inspire you for any ideas, crazy or not, and write each and every single one of them down, no matter how lame or awesome they sound. Have a British day -Kac

Real to Fictional

Throughout time, writers use information from the Real of their lives, and then twists, bends, melts, and jumbles it all together into something for the Fictional. Why are writers always trying to come up with 'brand new' (you never know for sure if nobody thought of it before) ideas for books and things. But you're looking in all the wrong places! Some of you might spend all day staring up at the clouds, looking for strange shapes you could write about, others might only listen to music and expect WOWing ideas to come out of nowhere. Sometimes, all you need to do is look around at the world. Anything, literally ANYTHING, can give you inspiration. Whether it be something simple as a pen or a notebook, or maybe it's something complex like the origin of the earth. But you can find so much more if you just look closer.  This world is full of so much stuff that can create an infinite amount of ideas spiraling through your mind (and your notebook). Try taking a look a...

Why We Love Creativity (And You Should, Too!)

Why should we love creativity? Well, creativity gives us so many things that we all love. Without creativity we would still be cavemen wandering around, we wouldn't have any weapons or food and we would not survive very long. Creativity is what leads to inventions, it lead to the lightbulb and the laptop, it gives us television shows and movies every day, and books for us to read. Life without creativity, well, we'd be little more than wild animals. There'd be no internet, electricity, television, books, movies, plays, and basically everything that makes the human existence would not exist. We cannot do anything without creativity, save for doing what animals do, surviving. Art is creativity. Movies are creativity. Human Life is based entirely around creativity. That is why we love creativity, why we should love creativity, and why you should too. Would you rather have internet or just run wild like a deer. That's all for now, have a British day -Kac

The Ultimate Cheat Sheet to Writing Stories

Part 1 of The Ultimate Cheat Sheet to Writing Stories Before You Start Relax and breathe. Let your mind calm down for a couple minutes before you start writing. Go to Pandora and create a playlist called 'Writing' they will usually send a great variety of songs that can set many different moods for writing. I find it extremely helpful when I am writing a book that needs different feels. Before you write, along with throughout writing, you should stand up and stretch and walk a bit, letting your mind wander, but only a little bit. And do not let yourself be distracted. Make sure you are somewhere with lots of various surroundings, whether there are a lot of pictures or clouds, or something else. Don't let the process of writing an entire book scare you out of it, it will take some time but it is worth it, and you can do it if you believe in yourself and just do it bit by bit. Stay tuned for the next part of The Ultimate Cheat Sheet to Writing: Do You Know Your Plot...

Spring Break! Is Over?!

Something sad just happened yesterday, spring break ended! But there is an upside to it, it means that there is just over a month left of school and then it is time for summer!! Last week was a blast, though I'm mostly talking about what happened Friday and Saturday. The first part of the week, leading up to Friday, was pretty boring as the only thing I really did was go to the mall once with some friends (shopping NOT allowed, I DESPISE shopping) and we did some fun stuff together there. Friday, I went down to Mesquite with my family and my BFFTLEWE Sam (check out Radio Rebel to understand) and it was a blast! We went swimming in the huge pool at the hotel on Friday and saw the movie Home, which is pretty funny. There was a LOT of picture taking. Saturday, we swam some more and then we went to St. George and went shopping (Sam and I spent most of our time in the Cowboys and Indians store). There was a LOT of picture taking that day as well, especially at the pool and in the ca...

What Is That Object?

Hey guys, this will be a fun game for all of us. I will post some descriptions of objects on this post, but I will not tell you what the object is. Then in the comments I want you all to go and comment what YOU think the object is. This Saturday I will post what each object really is and who got the most objects right. If you are the winner I will let you write a blog post about anything, be creative! For you writers out there, feel free to use this to help you come up with any ideas. Here we go! 1. This object is usually small but takes up a lot of space. It changes colors throughout the year and can be easily picked up. You can find all kinds of things, living and dead, hiding in it. 2. Coming in many different sizes and colors, this object is usually the same shape. It can be used to create something or it can be used as mini weapon. What comes from this object has the potential to create people and places or destroy them. 3. Just as the object above this object changes c...

4 Weird Fears I Have

  1. Earwigs. I am not afraid of any bugs or insects of creepy crawlies except one, and that is earwigs. They freak me out like crazy. When I was five or six my friend moved to a new house in our same neighborhood and we decided to have a sleepover one night. We were going to have it at her new house, but as we started setting up our stuff we saw a whole big nest of these weird crawler things, and when we asked what they were we were told they were earwigs. And we were also told that when you sleep, they like to climb into your ear and hide in it and lay their eggs there. That freaked us out so much we grabbed our stuff and had the sleepover at my house. Now I know they do not intentionally seek out humans ears and their pincers cannot hurt humans. (More information at http://www.creaturecontrol.net/CreatureControlBlog.html?m8:post=where-do-earwigs-get-their-name)   2.Darkness. Lots of people are afraid of the dark. I'm only afraid of the dark when I'm alone or in a pla...

Beware of Readers

There are a few reading positions that will tell you how the reader is feeling about a current book and whether or not you should risk approaching them. Use this table wisely to help determine whether it is safe to engage with the reader or not. If you dare approach a reader of the last two positions please email me and let me know how the encounter went. I would love to hear from you. Have a British day -Kac

Favorite Reading Positions

Everybody has a specific reading position they prefer to be in, but there are those of us who cannot settle on just one reading position, we have to be constantly changing positions and it is nearly impossible for us to get comfortable. This happens to me a lot and probably happens to you as well. Tell me about all the troubles you have with reading positions and what your most common and your favorite positions are. Have a British day -Kac

Writing Tip #4 -Ideas from Colors

Colors. Specific colors can get your memories flowing, maybe the color yellow will bring back memories of running through a field of sunflowers with a sibling when you were little. Find some of the craziest and weirdest moments from your life and write them all, then pick two or three of these moments and try to write a simple topic that explains those moments together and ties them together. Not all ideas will go good together but some topics can make the craziest and super different ideas far fetched and make sense together. You could use colors as your base of the plot, maybe your entire book revolves around colors or the lack of, similar to the book the Giver.  Anything can come from colors or what colors can represent. I had a dream once and there were nine children and they were each connected to a different colored orb and each orb gave their connected child a special power, and all the powers were different. Hope this helps you come up with new ideas for stories and t...
